We think bigger, work smarter and as a team, we collectively work towards achieving our ambition of “MORE FOOD TO MORE PEOPLE, MORE OFTEN” The RCL FOODS Talent Acquisition Team is recruiting for a dynamic Chief Executive Officer to join our pioneering Sugar business unit. The position is based in Malelane, and reports in to the Akwandze Board. As the CEO: Akwandze, You will be responsible for leading and managing an organization which provides financial services, within the sugarcane value chain, to Mpumalanga Sugar Cane Small Scale Growers and Land Restitution Projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

Entrepreneurship. Strategic Leadership, Direction and Relationship Management. Management of the Jobs Fund grant project. Raising of Capital. Management of funds (Risk Management/Loan recovery/Policies and Procedures). Ensuring effective people leadership across the organisation. Sound Financial Management. Building and maintaining strong Stakeholder Relationships (Board interaction). Driving Corporate Governance. Solving complex problems which entail both technical and social issues within his/her own area and across divisions. Investigating markets within which Akwandze can grow and developing strategies to raise funding. Establishing systems and processes within which the team needs to operate as well as for loan approvals.

Minimum Requirements

B. Degree/ Masters (preferably Agricultural Economics and/or Finance) An in depth, practical knowledge of Sugar Cane Farming within South Africa A proven track record in negotiation skills, ability to interact at the highest levels of the cane industry (SASA), facilitating discussions between Industry Bodies, Farming and Community associations and Government. Minimum 10 years industry experience Proven ability to apply Systems Sound Judgement and Risk Assessment skills Financial business acumen Experience in loan risk management
