Introduction
Our company is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Fresh Food Specialist (CU) to join our dynamic team.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Based in Bloemfontein, the successful incumbent will provide specialist management, consulting and training for the fresh service departments in the SPAR stores.
Key Performance Areas
- Formulate strategy and train management and staff to deliver peak performance from stores Fresh departments in terms of:
o Sales growth
o Sales ratio
o Waste control
o Gross profit performance
- Implement and train management and staff to ensure store compliance to:
o Legislation and policies
o Systems and procedures
o Accurate weekly stock taking
o Reporting deadlines
o Q pro and ROC audit targets
o Preventative maintenance program for equipment
o Marketing programs
o Action to address unproductive unprofitable practices and issues
- Monitor and control quality and value of:
o Product and ingredient suppliers
o Equipment suppliers
o Service suppliers
• Monitor opposition activities:
o Marketing practices
o Pricing
- Effective communication with customers, staff, and suppliers
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Matric
- 3 years experience in Service Department -Butchery/Fresh Produce/Bakery/HMR (Required)
- Certificate – in at least one of the Specialist areas – HMR/Food Safety (Advantageous)
- A Valid Driver’s License – must be willing to travel and spend time away from home
- Financial and business understanding
- Good knowledge of store operations
