Dispatch Manager (Night Shift)

SPAR North Rand, a division of The SPAR Group Ltd, is recruiting for a Despatch Manager (Night Shift) at its Distribution Centre, located in Olifantsfontein

Purpose of the Position

To ensure the Cost effective and Efficient Management of the outbound activities and Full Operational functions on the Night Shift.

• Ensure operating expenses are managed according to budget
• Good knowledge of SPAR delivery systems and operations
• Extensive knowledge of Despatch and Transport operating procedures
• Coordinate all internal and external Despatch processes to ensure orders are delivered timeously
• Manage daily unloaded containers with entire team

• Complete a variety of outbound reports aligned with BOP’s and audit requirements
• Drive and manage Despatch KPI’s (on time, truck utilisation, correct invoicing, perfect load)
• Maintain and grow excellent relationship with retailers through analyzing and resolving queries and complaints effectively and providing timeous solutions and feedback

• Matric Certificate is a pre-requisite
• Minimum 3 Years Degree or Diploma in Transport and Logistics
• 5-8 Years’ previous experience in FMCG Distribution Centre
• Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office)
• Project management skills
• Full understanding of Retail Distribution Centre functional areas
• Excellent time management skills
• Excellent communication verbal & written (English)
• Excellent organisational, decision making and problem-solving skills
• High energy level and the ability to operate under pressure
• Ability to manage a team
